Parents

Parental involvement to support the development of children, and to ensure optimal experiences within the player experience model, is crucial to achieve the aims of the NWSF DNA.

There are a wide variety of ways in which parents may be involved with their childrens development. Some parents may be opposed to their involvement; some may be active & present, and some may be overinvolved.

It is important to recognise that parents have a wide range of knowledge, experiences and understandings across various aspects of the pathway. Therefore, education and involvement needs to be flexible to ensure parents appreciate the role they play within the player development framework, and how they can support their children as they move through the pathway and through different experiences.

Ultimately, the role of NWSF is to work with, support and educate parents to help their child thrive.
