Player development model

A key feature of our framework is that NWSF takes a holistic view of the complexity, and range of factors, involved in player development.

Therefore, a player development model can help coaches and staff understand the complex nature of player development, with many interrelated factors which influence player development.

This model recognises that people are dynamic and evolving. It also has a holistic approach to encourage people to recognise the wide variety of factors that influence players.

Adapted from Brofenbrenner’s ecological systems theory, Player Development Project model and Kristoffer Henriksen athlete talent development environment model

The model is intended to simply provide a framework for people involved in NWSF clubs to consider in the development of their programs and environment.
